Best Christmas Pageant Ever

It is very difficult to make this decision but the situation with the Covid19 virus makes it necessary to cancel our show. What makes this so hard is that the play was really coming together and looked to be a great and heartwarming show. Mary Kay has once again put together an amazing cast doing great things and wants to thank everyone for their hard yet fun work. She said ‘We’ve had a lot of laughs while creating this fun-filled show. I’m so proud of everyone who participated in any way!!!’ I couldn’t agree with her more.

When I started Excelsior, I said we wanted to create a safe space for kids. While I meant a safe space for acting, first and foremost I must make sure we do everything to keep our actors and staff out of harm’s way. At this time, I see the risks so much greater than the benefits. I know many of you will be disappointed, but I believe it is in the best interest of all involved.

We are going to look for alternative dates to perform the show. We have dates already set aside at the Outdoor Theater this July. We may perform our show then with a Christmas in July theme. Hopefully, all of you involved would be able to recreate your roles then.

If you have any personal items at the church that you need to pick up, please contact me and I’ll make arrangements to meet you there.

God bless you all and may you all stay safe and healthy.

Excelsior Family, we are excited to announce our Christmas Show –The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Production dates are December 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 at First Christian Church in Auburn.

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States! Features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs!

Rehearsals start on Oct 19th and will be Mon-Thurs from 6 – 8 pm. This show will be directed by Mary Kay Clark.

Show dates are Dec 10,11,12,13,17,18,19 all at First Christian Church. Audiences will be limited to 50 to allow for social distancing which is why there are more performances
